Senior System Analyst

Location: Galway

12-month contract

The role involves facilitating requirement sessions with business partners, articulating business requirements into Agile/Scrum story format, and working within the technology organization to deliver and validate new features/functionality assisting in the development of quality software used by Portfolio Managers, and Analysts in managing large volume of investments. You will have chance to engage, shape and productively contribute to the client portfolio platform.

You will work closely with a Product Owner, Squad Leader, and technology teams to create, prioritize, and maintain our product backlog. You will translate business requirements to technical blueprint, work on complex business solutions, delivering the highest customer value.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving analysis, design, and support for investment management solutions that help investment managers achieve outstanding performance and end-customers achieve their financial goals.
  • Collaborating with the technology and business teams to deliver high quality solutions to achieve business goals and address challenges.
  • Bringing curiosity and a questioning mind-set to work, asking about the “why” and the “value” of new features/enhancements we build.
  • Partner with Squad Leads, delivery teams and external teams to coordinate the complex and creative portfolio of work aimed at supporting our High Income/Alternatives business partners.
  • Define and manage the product backlog, including change control with the business and delivery teams
  • Prepare detailed requirements documentation and specifications including use cases, context diagrams, business process flows, etc.
  • Document and maintain progress of stories, iterations, and releases for our Agile projects through use of Agile project tools (prior knowledge of these tools is helpful but not required)
  • Review/participate in defining test strategies, as well as coordinate user acceptance testing efforts
  • Work with other teams to evolve standards and best practices for technology processes

Skills and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (5+ years working experience)
  • Creative, collaborative, results-oriented problem solver with experience in the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Financial services industry knowledge and experience, investment management and/or wealth management domain knowledge a strong plus
  • Ability to take sophisticated features and break them into stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria
  • Strong analysis skills, with a proven track record of delivery on complex technology projects
  • Previous use of Agile or Scrum methodology
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, management, and investment professionals in an investment technology organization
