Harvey Nash are working with an award-winning, fast-growing technology platform provider within the FinTech space to recruit for an Operations Engineer here in Dublin.
This is a newly created position on the ops team, that will require someone who is both highly technical and flexible in their approach to support the business. As part of the ops team, you will work to support the successful operation of the company’s MarcoPolo distributed Network (training provided).
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Act as an SME for the MarcoPolo Platforms and Infrastructure – maintaining monitoring and alerting, supporting & troubleshooting issues, escalation point etc.
- Aid in the deployment of new environments & releases, both production and pre-production
- Continuous review and implementation of the Network Operations Centre – reporting on network operations uptime, availability, and day to day tasks (tickets)
- Act as an escalation point for customer ops team and liaise with development/engineering teams when required to resolve technical and system issues.
- Work closely with other internal teams and vendors to assist in troubleshooting where required, to resolve business impacting incidents – level 2/3 incidents (Deep tech support).
- Proactively communicate with engineering team on technical issue, bugs, and improvements
- Maintain & monitor standards, controls, processes, and solutions, to minimise risk
- Help to train new starters and participate in any on-call or shift work when required.
Ideally you will have a combination of the below technical skills:
- Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working in a technical customer support or operations / systems engineering related role, preferably supporting external users.
- Strong working experience in cloud / system / application support - preferably in a cloud or financial service, customer focused environment.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking (in Azure, AWS, GCP or private cloud environments).
- Experience with hosted managed services
- Strong troubleshooting skills – log analysis, recognising incidents, technical understanding.
- Proven ability to present service improvement initiatives to both tech / non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of distributed systems would be hugely advantageous
- Knowledge of ITIL highly desirable.
Bonus points if you have any experience or knowledge of:
- Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes service (AKS)
- Experience with Azure or blockchain technologies
- Basic devops experience – automation or experience in Jenkins auto release systems
