Job Description

Role: Operational Risk Officer (VP Level)

Duration: 6 months

Location: Dublin City Centre (remotely initially)

We are seeking to hire an Operational Risk Officer for a global funds services client based in Dublin. The successful individual will be responsible for supporting strategic decision making particularly within the Cash Management and Transaction Banking business. It’s a very diverse position where you will offer guidance to other team members / stakeholders, influencing and negotiating decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and oversee the application of operational risk analytics, utilizing technology and tools, and linking to governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Independently assess’ data to identify risks and drive actions to address the root causes that lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for in-depth analytics, trending and visualization of data, that is digestible and actionable
  • Analyzes a multitude of data sources (operational and technology), in an attempt to mitigate exposure through identification of target risk areas for enhancement
  • Collaborates to resolve any issues which fall within the terms of the contract.
  • Develops and maintains relationships across the business users and Lines of Defense to better understand and deliver customer requirements by responding to changes in the internal and external business environment
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 6-10 years’ experience in a similar role within financial services
  • Experience with Cash Management and/or Transaction Banking
  • BCs or MSc degree in related discipline
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and negotiate with various audiences
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Operational processes and technology experience – understanding complexities of such and offer suggestions to resolute issues.
