Harvey Nash are working with one of Ireland’s leading Network data analytics companies based in Dublin’s city centre to recruit for a Network Automation & Test Engineer to join a growing QA team.
As part of the test engineering team, you will be responsible for designing comprehensive functional testing and system testing strategies, whilst aiding in the automation of developed tests to ensure the company’s leading network data products function at the highest levels of performance / quality.
If you are a network engineer who is interested in developing your scripting skills for automation or moving into more of a QA Testing role then this is the role for you.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the quality of industry leading financial and enterprise core product features
- Working within an agile software development lifecycle to test new product features
- Designing functional and system test strategies using QA best practice
- Using scripting and programming skills to automate tests using python
Ideally you will have a combination of the below technical skills:
- Third Level Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Degree (Minimum 2:1) and a minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience.
- Good working knowledge of IP networking protocols and systems
- Ease with Linux/Unix OSes
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Strong scripting/ programming skills - ideally using Python but other languages will be considered
- Demonstrate an understanding, knowledge, experience or interest in functional and system testing - such as performance, best practices etc.
- Familiarity with manual and/or automated testing on backend and web applications a plus.
Any additional skills in the below would be advantageous but not essential:
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP highly desirable
- Industry certifications in virtualization & cloud technologies such as VMWare, AWS highly desirable
- Experience in testing HW systems such as servers and associated components would be hugely beneficial.
