Our client, a global investment solutions company, is seeking an Operating Model Director and Senior Manager to join their team. The role will be responsible for defining and reviewing Target Operting Models to support the business. These are leading roles that will be supporting the Head of Department.
Responsibilities
- Scope, plan and lead the development of target operating models for prioritised business areas across the organisation without need for oversight, focusing on some of the highest profile challenges.
- Support the Head of OMD in further developing the team
- See the big picture and join up multiple initiatives, spotting common threads and proposing different approaches to tackle problems when appropriate
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand and influence organisational and departmental strategy and objectives and develop a Target operting model to support these, ensuring that the scope and approach of the work is tailored to solve the challenge at hand
- Work closely with the Technology architecture team to link the business Target operating models to a Technology Target operating models
- Proactively identify expected challenges (whether business or logistical) during each initiative and plan to address these in advance
- Gather and provide insights from competitor firms and beyond to inform the development of innovative operating models
- Conduct reviews of existing operating models with a view to identifying the root causes of pain points and influencing further action
Essential Skills
- Significant experience of business strategy, architecture and target operating models
- Significant experience of working with wide groups of senior stakeholders
- Strong influencing skills across all levels in the organisation
- A good understanding of the tools and techniques required for effective development of Target operating models.
- The ability to develop successful working relationships at senior levels in support of individual initiatives across FIL and the wider enterprise
- Good knowledge of the asset management industry, particularly across operating model themes and trends. A strong external network
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong people management and development skills
- Ability to challenge and question senior stakeholders and resolve areas of disagreement
- Project management skills
- Ability to clearly identify benefits from proposed Target operating models.
- Ability to deal successfully with ambiguity and draw out the issues to be addressed
